MADISON - Averil "Joyce" Tooley, age 74, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2004, after a long illness. She was born in Madison on Feb. 8, 1930, to Frank and Nina (Rohr) Lange. Joyce attended Madison East High School and was retired from American Family Insurance Co. She was a member of Bashford United Methodist Church. Joyce is survived by her husband, Jimmy R. Tooley; son-in-law, Russell Leisure; three grandchildren, Lynn, Sherene and Shawn Leisure; two great-granddaughters, Tiffany and Brittany Leisure; a special cousins, Evelyn Ellefson and Karen Jackson; a good friend, JoEllen Lambert; and many other relatives and caring friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Edward Wolfe; and a daughter, Sherry Leisure. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2004, with the Rev. Roger Becker presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
